All of the lights!

I don't know what the deal is with lights at this place, but this would be so cool! And I could totally make it easy-like.

Name Spoons!

These are pretty cool. Not sure for what, maybe just for labeling plants. But still :)

Wdng Drsz

What do you think about this dress?? Maybe it's crazy, but I'm thinking of ordering it! It's on sale, they have it in my size, free shipping and free returns....what do you think?

I also like this dress, especially the champage color, but they don't have it in my size. And it's pricier. Thoughts?

(PS--Sorry about the lack of picture! These sites won't let me save them.)

Wedding dreeeessssseeeessss

Um, can you tell me if this site looks awesome or totally lame? I stumbled upon it on a blog that was doing a giveaway (I did NOT win). They're kind of not really my style, but they're so cheap! I think I've looked at so many dressed in the past couple of weeks that I just don't know what to think anymore. Now that I'm looking at them again, I think they might be silly. Anyway, let me know what I really think. Three that I think are not terrible are the Lilly, Eloise, and the Faye. Or maybe they actually are terrible. I just don't know.

Apps and Zerts

I think these would be delicious and easy for your clam-bake-lobster-boil-hippie-west-coast-"what's that they're smoking"-non-traditional-rehearsal dinner.

CAAAAAAAKEEEEE

Besides loving this woman, THIS is genius. Re-think your cake idea. Or maybe we can just do this ourselves. Just the two of us. I'm down if you are.

Another one

How about this dress? all I want is lace in my life. Maybe you should MAKE your dress. Word.

Kimmy wanted me to suggest these to you. I didn't think it was something you were into but I figured i would shoot it out there! They can be fun, as long as they aren't too expensive.

Cool Lights!

Isn't this website amazing? Granted, it's in French. But it's this French light boutique where you can choose whatever color lanterns you want in any quantity to make your own unique garlands! And they are the sturdy kind, no paper. The possibilities are endless! Look under the "garlands" tab. Incredible.

The box Cousin Paul: 03 stores

The box Cousin Paul: Garland 08

Obviously you would never order these from Paris, but wouldn't something like this be beautiful? In a wedding, or just in general. You could have them for every themed party you could think of!

Dream dress

Ok, so this is my dream dress. I love the neckline and those cap sleeves! Although I wouldn't want anything this long--maybe knee length and not as billowy. But isn't the top of the dress gorgeous?

I would also not like it to be made by Reem Acra, and not therefore cost approximately $2500.

The whole wedding is gorgeous and makes me want to scrap this whole New Orleans thing and move to Big Sur. Sigh...

Garter!

I know this is a decision for the future, but look at how pretty this is!

I know it's very fluffy and girly, but there are so many beautiful ones!

A little distraction...

Heh. NOTHING to do with your pending day of bliss. I just forgot to show you this.

Who knew? found at Paxton Gate. I still need to show you all these pictures.

Garlands!

These are cool!

http://www.makegrowgather.com/posts/2011/12/16/dip-dyed-filter-garlands.html

ALL of it!

All of those ideas rock! I was thinking EXACT same thing for the mason jar lanterns. They could even be filled with small oil lamps that would last longer, or battery lights. Or we could just get a TON of tea lights. They could be hung from the trees and put on the tables. These ones are really pretty. Here are some of my thoughts (and this is a small list - there are many more to come):

1. Centerpieces: Either jars (mason jars, or we could collect tons of antique brown glass jars that would be really pretty) filled with local flowers, maybe surrounded by Spanish moss. Wouldn't lavender be beautiful? I also thought filling vases with different pretty greens and air plants would be nice, even without flowers. I love greens. These are also beautiful, which are living and would be easy cause we could dig them up from all over the city! Lots of moss, etc. They could be in tea cups, jars, wine glasses, etc.

2. Floating candles: Again, super easy to make. LOOK LOOK LOOK AT THEEEEESE. I love them and can't stop thinking about them. There are also some really awesome ones in apples. Niether of these may be appropriate for your wedding but I really wanted to show them to you :) But maybe for later in the evening, mason jars with floating candles...just sayin...

3. Bunting: I didn't know this actually had a name, but it's basically just garlands of hanging things, like fabric.
Those ones are actually kind of boring, but I could really easily make some really beautifully colored fabric ones.

OK. Sorry for the overload. I love the fun stuff though! Can't wait to get to crafting. Jars can be collected from every thrift store around and I am sure there would be plenty. I LOVE those paper flower explosions and they would be really nice hanging down from the trees. Everything is grand. I WANT IT ALL AND IT'S NOT EVEN MY WEDDING WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME.

Inspirations

Some beautiful weddings that I like!

Check out the paper cranes!

Gorgeous centerpieces!

Designy details!

Since the big things are starting to drive me insane, I'm going to do a few posts of the fun details, which I'm actually not worried about at all!

For the centerpieces, here are some of my ideas:

Totally beautiful, and if we go for the swamp reception, I think they'd be perfect. To do: scour craigslist, thrift stores, and my friends' fridges for jars. Procure wire. Dollar store tea lights. What do you think?

Totally gorgeous I think, and actually easy to make! We can make them in all sizes and any colors we want. Here they are in an actual wedding (or a pre-wedding shot):

I thought we could surround the jam jars on each table with flowers of all sizes, in whatever color we think. What do you think?

Save-The-Dates

Oh man, I love those tiny little save-the-dates! I've been bugging out because I want to get the invitations out asap, and that means having all of the venue, times, accommodations, etc battened down. But sending out cheap, easy, diy save-the-dates and then working on invitations the rest of the month would probably solve the problem!

So. I think I'm going to use basically the same design (I'm so not above shamelessly copying). I can buy similar recycled cardstock here, and I think just one pack of 100 will be way more than plenty.
I can make a very simple template on word, and then just print them out, fold them up, stamp, and mail! I might even do the cute little rafia ties in green, although I'm not really sure if we're allowed to send those through the mail here in the US. What do you think?

Also this -

Just in case you need to smile, remember our humble beginnings...

Love love love

Hair!

Also look at this beautiful hair! Which would look totally beautiful on you, just sayin.

Thoughts so far:

I have SO MANY THOUGHTS. For now, I will keep it pertinent.

All the spaces are beautiful, but I would choose one that won't look totally gigantic and empty with only 80 people in it. The Pharmacy Museum looks very quaint and beautiful, and it looks like a good size. Do you want to have it on pavement? Random question I know, but some people want to feel their little bridey feet in the grass :) Just want to make sure you'd be comfortable anywhere. I think the zoo sounds TOTALLY awesome though! Who wouldn't want to get married next to gators? And it's very naturey and outside. After checking them out, which one are you leaning towards most?

Here are a couple save the date/invitation ideas I came across. They are from this great website that I literally spent HOURS on last night. I have saved so many ideas from it! But those will all come later.

Event Rental Companies

A few event rental companies that I want to keep track of, suggested to me by the woman who owns the pharmacy museum. That's probably the only venue I would need rentals for, although maybe also for a ceremony in Audubon.

Most boring post ever.

Post numero uno! Venuuuuuues.

Check it out, I started a blog for us!! I couldn't think of any snappy titles, but I figured we could change it later. I figured we're going to be sending a lot of emails back and fourth over the next few months of wedding planning madness, and I thought this might help keep us a little more organized. Maybe? Is this too weird and/or bridezilla-y? All I know is that I like blogs and I'm scatterbrained, so this might help me out. I currently have 32 tabs open on my browser, so I need a place to put links!

I'm trying to jump into this wedding planning thing headfirst, without completely losing my cookies, so first things first: venues!

Tops of my list so far:

Probably my favorite so far. I would probably do the ceremony outside in the park under a big oak tree (read about spots here) and then have the reception in this hall. It's in the zoo right on the edge of their swamp exhibit. How awesome is that?

Beautiful courtyard spot in the French Quarter. We could do the ceremony and the reception here, and there's plenty of room for the 80 or so people that we'd have. Plus, it's right near all of the hotels and spots that we might want to do an after party. Minimal traveling!

Amazing location. Not quite as convenient travel-wise as the others, but still not too bad. Here is an amazing photo shoot from a wedding there.

Ok, that's it for now. Checking on prices today!
